Who am I?

My name is Ricardo Luís Carvalho and I am a Portuguese environmental engineer who works with community building around the world and since really young was fascinated by travelling and keep in touch with diferent cultures. I was born in a multi-cultural environment in the neighbourhoods of the cospomopolitan Lisbon and when I was 18 years old I moved to the fresh coastal town of Aveiro (also know as the Veneze of Portugal!)…

Since really young I was listening to the stories and aventures of my grandfather Artur Carvalho who was born in Angola and travelled around the palancas country with the family because of his working arrangements. This blog is also dedicated to is soul!

Every holiday of my childrenhood was a diferent trip for me even if I was not leaving Odivelas where I was living with my parents. I always received news from South Africa (where my mother was born) when my hunt Lena and oncle Toni were visiting us! Actually oncle Toni had all the time stories to tell about his trips to Mozambique where he was doing humanitarian work with my hunt. Thanks to oncle Toni today I am an inspired person 😉

During the last years I was travelling around the world and at the moment I am comming back to the road for a new personal experience that I will tell you along this journey. For the moment, thanks so much to all friends and family for all support…

The World from a different angle

Fernando Pessoa has been travelling around during his life journey as a poetry and a traveller observer, taking new pictures and integrating with such images his emotions and ideas. Other community builders such as the Indian Mahatma Ghandi and Nélson Madela have experienced grassroots life working for the human rights.

Youths of the modern world have got an amazing cultural heritage which gives them the opportunity to experience the best of globalization and the interculturality. In spite of the social assimetric world we still face, there is a new generation of dynamic players that can do something for a more wealthy and sustainable way of being in the planet.

Technology is here being used for sharing ideas & stories from your experiences as an observer and a community diver, I hope it is going to be exciting and useful for everone interested in improving the sustainabily in our day-by-day!

    Hei man!

I was lazying around in Facebook and I bumped into your big adventure. 2 years ago, I read an article about Bhutan’s Happiness Index and it got me really interested on the country, so I will follow your adventures via blog…

You might get asked this a lot but how can I do the same thing as you?🙂

I am working in the UK for 18 months now. Did a Leo da Vinci in Cambridge University, which was an amazing previlege and now I am working on a tool that will estimate lifecycle carbon, lifecycle cost and a sustainability measure for english houses, innovative and interesting stuff but I miss the sun and I miss “desenrasque”. O pessoal aqui é bued atado, há procedimentos escritos pra tudo! Lol.

Toda a sorte deste mundo com os teus projectos. Fiquei bued contente, sempre acreditei que os sonhos estão aí para os agarrarmos.

    ABRAÇO,
