The relaxed atmosphere lived in Bhutan is nowadays facing many changes. Economic development is comming and the country is opening doors for tourists, business men and development workers. The national economy depends on the use of fossil fuels but a great share of the energy production is comming from hydro power and great part of this exported to India! Energy efficiency is now a challenge that can certainly bring social welfare and economic development to the country. The implementation a national policy for EE and energy conservation raising awarness in the Bhutanese communities are important steps to change the natural resources usage in sychrony with the concept of Gross National Hapiness concept.
